Here's the first take on my vision for an official LEGO Link Minifigure design (lacking the scabbard sword and shield, obviously)
I used a 3D generated plain minifig as a base and painted over it.
I find the detail level of Twilight Princess' direction to best translate into the LEGO Minifig format, and as Skyward Sword portrays Link much in the same way, it would work for both.
Hope you like it and if you as me wish to see an official LEGO Zelda product(s), please support it!
I agree with you that Twilight Princess has a great detail level, that is why I'm currently working on a cosplay of Link (TP). I was kind of dissapointed when I started to play Skyward Sword, because I liked the style of TP and SS was so different, but now that I've played the game, I like both styles (TP still is my favorite).
Trick is to get it around the interwebs
Sounds interesting, always wanted to get dressed as Link and go on epic adventures when I was young.. oh well...
Yes SS has it's own direction, but it may never reach the level of TP, by any means, TP has the best style in any of the games!
Had the highest gaming/animation studio made this... i would make such a comparison, well done Ruben!
I've actually starting to model scale accurate LEGO figures in 3DS Max now in between all that occupies me, so eventually I'll be having complete figures with respective decals and and items to rise the quality of it all, potentially animations/games too as we're getting more focused on making faces and bodies adapted to animation at the study
I just have to say that I just now have been immensely inspired by this fellow's work [link] with his LEGO Space Marine idea for CUUSOO [link] so I do feel like taking it more towards the 3D medium.. when time allows of course!
And yes i see how he could have had such an influence on you, and with your passion for the zelda games your work is portraying that.
Just hope the work pays of and I'll get some votes gathering, depending on people's preferences of course.
